Amador Vega PHILOSOPHY

Amador Vega (Barcelona, ​​1958) is Director of the «Centre for Aesthetics, Religion and Contemporary Culture» at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where he is Professor of Aesthetics and Art Theory in the Department of Humanities. He holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona (1982) and a PhD in Philosophy from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität, Freiburg im Breisgau (1992). He was Joan Coromines Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago (2007), Visiting Professor at the Université Saint-Josep, Beirut (2010), Visiting Professor at the Hochschule für Gestaltung/ Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (2016-17), and has been Visiting Professor at the Carl G. Jung Institute in Zurich since 2014. He is the author of numerous books on subjects including twentieth-century art, mysticism and religious thought, and on figures such as Mark Rothko, Rainer Maria Rilke and Meister Eckhart. His last books include: Ramon Llull’s Method of Thought and Artistic Practice (Minnesota University Press, 2019) and Tentativas sobre el vacío. Ensayos de estética y religión (Fragmenta, 2022).
