
Josep Maria Gregori i Cifré | MUSIC
Musicologist and singer, is professor of musicology at the UAB, having taught since 1978. His research includes historical and performance aspects of the music of the 15th to 18th centuries and themes of musical thought and aesthetics, about which he has published several works. Since 2001, he has been coordinating the IFMuC project applied to the cataloguing of the musical funds of Catalonia. In the artistic field, he studied with Father Robert de la Riba, singing with Montserrat Pueyo and Jordi Albareda at the Professional Conservatories of Terrassa and Badalona, and perfecting his skills with Xavier Torra. He has sung with Jordi Savall’s La Capella Reial de Catalunya (1987-2011), Exaudi nos (2007-2010), La capella de música de Santa Maria del Pi (2014-16), De canendi elegantia, and has performed recitals of religious music of the Baroque with the organists Miquel González, Carme Godall and Guido Iotti. He is the academic correspondent of the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi and a member of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans.
